JUST SOME THINGS WE HAVE ACHIEVED TOGETHER
DAVID MACFARLAN MASTERPLAN
SORRENTO FORESHORE MASTERPLANS
SORRENTO FORESHORE MASTERPLANS
It is done! All five masterplans have now been stripped bare so that now we are looking at upgrades & maintenance only – this is the biggest achievement in our township for decades. The comprehensive blue print we all worked on received support from the community and also our community groups, please check Sorrento Foreshore Blueprint.
- Ferry to the baths
- Websters Corner
- Western Sister
- Sullivan Bay
- Foreshore parking
MASTERPLANS COMPLETED
This is exactly what everyone has been asking for, and an amazing achievement in unity! We have an opportunity to community fund some parts of the project, which is great news as we can start to see movement.
PORTSEA DRAINAGE
With the assistance of Portsea residents providing images, we were able to have the crushed, non functioning drainage pipe under the Portsea Pier escalated so that now it is in the current budget. This huge damaged pipe caused parts of Portsea to flood.
FUNDED – IN PROGRESSS
Completed – also sections between Sorrento East & West Camping Grounds, it is making a huge difference to the pathway access, & is much safer.
DOGS IN PUBLIC PLACES POLICY
DOGS IN PUBLIC PLACES POLICY
Despite strong opposition from officers & some councillors we have managed a few wins. We will have to be on our game as the council starts to try and delist non compliant leash free areas. Amazing help and support from Leash Free Mornington Peninsula, Andrea Allen, Chris Healy and our doggie community – well done!
COMPLETED
FOOTPATH CONSTRUCTION CHANGES
We have been successful in changing the footpath policy to include crushed rock, granitic sand, recycled asphalt and concrete as well as other materials – until now it has been exposed aggregate & concrete only. There is still a lot ot work to do in this space as there are currently 115 footpaths on the Pedestrian Network, this doesn’t include many of the footpaths that we see as vital in our communities for pedestrian safety. Over the last 5 years we have managed 3 foot paths, meaning we are looking at over 160 years to get the PPN paths done.
